Job summary

A major teaching hospital in Hull is seeking a qualified Speech & Language Therapist to manage a caseload of inpatients and outpatients with communication and swallowing disorders. You will work within a dynamic, supportive team and participate in post-graduate training opportunities. Candidates requiring Skilled Worker Visa sponsorship are welcome. Overview

To work within the Speech & Language Therapy Team to provide an efficient and effective service in line with the guidance of the Clinical Lead Speech & Language Therapists, the Royal College of Speech & Language Therapists (RCSLT), the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), and Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.

Responsibilities
  • Manage your own caseload of inpatients and out-patients (with supervision from senior Speech & Language Therapists) who have an acquired communication and/or swallowing disorder as a result of a range of post-surgical conditions, including those related to head and neck cancer.
  • Work within the acute surgical team and with the head and neck caseload as part of a close multi-disciplinary team.
  • Participate in post-graduate dysphagia training and competencies; observe and support SLT-led Videofluoroscopy clinics and the FEES service as part of your role.
  • Be part of a dynamic, supportive and forward-thinking department in a large tertiary teaching centre with first-class facilities, and access highly specialist colleagues in areas such as stroke, elderly medicine, head & neck, neurosurgery and critical care.

  • Support completion of National Qualification Programme (NQP) competencies with regular individual supervision, peer support and other CPD opportunities.
