To work within the Speech & Language Therapy Team to provide an efficient and effective service in line with the guidance of the Clinical Lead Speech & Language Therapists, the Royal College of Speech & Language Therapists (RCSLT), the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), and Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.

To manage own caseload of inpatients and out-patients (with supervision from senior Speech & Language Therapists) who have an acquired communication and/or swallowing disorder as a result of a range of post-surgical conditions, including related to head and neck cancer.

Main duties of the job

You\u2019ll be part of a team of clinicians working in the acute surgical team and with the head and neck caseload, working within a close multi-disciplinary team. Post-graduate dysphagia training and competencies will be supported and as part of your role you will have on-going opportunities to observe and support our SLT-led Videofluoroscopy clinics and our established and developing FEES service.

You will be joining a dynamic, supportive and forward thinking department in a large tertiary teaching centre with first class facilities.

You will have access to highly specialist colleagues in areas such as stroke, elderly medicine, head & neck, neurosurgery and critical care.

We will support you with completion of your NQP competencies, ensuring regular individual supervision as well as peer support and other CPD opportunities.
