A community healthcare provider in Telford is looking for a part-time Speech and Language Therapist to join the Community Learning Disability Team. We are seeking a part time highly motivated Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist to work within the Community Learning Disability Team in Shropshire where we provide high quality, community based, integrated services for adults with learning disabilities. If successful, you will work independently under the leadership of the Professional and Team Lead, whilst having the opportunity to develop yourself personally and professionally during this time. A valid UK driving license plus the use of your own car for business purposes is essential due to the large rural nature of our catchment area.
To provide specialist Speech and Language Therapy assessment, diagnosis and treatment programmes to individual adult clients with complex learning disabilities, some of whom have physical disabilities and/or autism. To be an autonomous practitioner, holding a small mixed clinical caseload of those with swallowing and communication needs; working without direct supervision within the context of a multi-disciplinary team. To support less experienced staff and students and colleagues deliver the Trust contracted services. To provide expert advice in relation to swallowing and communication. Signposting and providing guidance and information to health and social care professionals, clients, carers and relatives.
