Job description
Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment and intervention: Conduct speech, language, and communication assessments and deliver tailored therapy programmes.
  • Collaborative working: Work closely with teachers, support staff, and external professionals to embed communication strategies across the school day.
  • Training and support: Provide training, modelling, and guidance to staff to promote communication‑friendly environments.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records, write reports, and contribute to EHCP reviews.
  • Family engagement: Liaise with parents and carers to support communication development at home.
About You
  • Qualified Speech and Language Therapist with HCPC registration.
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN (school‑based experience desirable but not essential).
  • Strong understanding of AAC, social communication approaches, and evidence‑based interventions.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and organisational skills.
  • Passionate about improving outcomes for children with additional needs.
