Job summary

A prominent healthcare system in Scotland is seeking an experienced Urology doctor for a fixed term post of 12 months. This role involves providing key input to Urology Services, supporting national waiting targets, and contributing to the smooth operations of the urological department. Qualifications

Overview

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non‑clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

The shift pattern for this post is Monday to Friday.

This is a Fixed term post for 12 months.

This post will provide key input to Urology Services in NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde and support delivery of national waiting targets. The post is available immediately for twelve months in the first instance. The post is suitable for an experienced doctor in Urology who wishes to gain further exposure to urology. A further aim of the candidate should be the development of independent research aimed at publication in peer reviewed journals. The successful candidate is expected to be experienced enough to contribute to the smooth running of all aspects of the urological department and will join a team of Urology surgeons delivering elective complex cancer, emergency and outpatient services across NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.

Qualifications
  • shall have full registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council (GMC);
  • shall have completed at least four years’ full‑time postgraduate training (or its equivalent gained on a less than full‑time or flexible basis) at least two of which will be in a specialty training programme or specialty registrar locum appointment for training (LAT);
  • shall have equivalent training, experience or competencies, either in the UK or overseas.
