Job description
Overview

The successful candidate will be part of the Oral and Maxillofacial team providing comprehensive out-patient and day case services in a busy hospital department. We are seeking to appoint a full-time Specialty Doctor to work within a committed team of Consultants in Maxillofacial and Oral Surgery and Orthodontics, as well as other medical, nursing and administrative staff. There will be a requirement to undertake clinical duties at West Cornwall Hospital and St Austell Hospital. All aspects of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery are covered and you will be required to work both independently and in Consultant-led clinics, and be responsible for diagnosis, prevention and treatment plans.

Responsibilities
  • Share with colleagues responsibility for the day-to-day management of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
  • Contribute to the teaching and training of junior staff or medical students.
  • Have responsibility for ensuring active participation in continuing medical education (CME).
  • Actively participate in both departmental and Trust matters concerning Clinical Governance and audit.
  • Attend meetings as appropriate.
  • Fulfil duties of weekly timetable.
  • Sustainability is integral to the Trust achieving the NHS Net Zero target. All staff are therefore actively encouraged and supported to implement new ways of working within their field of expertise.
Qualifications

The post is full-time covering general out-patients, paediatric surgery, anaesthetic theatre as well as main theatre sessions. You will have full GDC registration and a minimum of two years’ experience.
