A leading provider of eye health services in the UK is seeking a Specialty Doctor to manage outpatient clinics across various sub-specialties in Ophthalmology. This full-time role offers a competitive salary up to £99,216, along with benefits such as annual leave, a company pension scheme, and opportunities for professional development. The post holder will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to enhance patient care while having a flexible schedule that may involve cross-site work in Worcester and Bromsgrove.

We provide services for NHS ICBs, NHS Trusts and Foundation Trusts and other providers of NHS funded services. We deliver over 125,000 patient interactions annually including outpatient appointments, diagnostic testing and eye surgery. Our services are delivered through a variety of models including Managed Services and Ophthalmology Joint Venture (OJV) Partnerships.
We are looking to appoint an innovative and high performing Specialty Doctor to perform independent elective outpatient clinics across a range of sub‑specialties (Cataract, YAG, VR, Oculoplastic & Glaucoma) in Ophthalmology. The post holder will also have a fixed theatre session each week to include training and the ability to perform a list independently following Clinical Director sign off. The post holder will have no requirement to undertake acute clinics as these are not undertaken within the organisation. The post holder would join the 2nd on call rota. Resident on call is not required.
It is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Specialty Doctor to join a dynamic and motivated team either on a part time or full‑time basis. The service currently consists of six permanent consultants, three optometrists, one nurse practitioner and a large team of locum specialists to deliver a high-quality service.
The post holder would have opportunity to undertake further professional development and research in line with the organisations strategic objectives and funding will be provided by the organisation.
This requires a flexible attitude to working practices managing patients in partnership with other consultant colleagues and professional staff and making the best possible use of resources put at the disposal of the service. This is likely to require negotiated changes of duties and time‑tabled sessions from time to time. Cross‑site working will be required.
