A healthcare provider in Birmingham is seeking a skilled oral surgeon to join their team. This role involves providing outpatient surgeries, contributing to clinical teaching, and participating in departmental activities. Candidates should have significant surgical experience and flexibility in work sessions. The position offers a supportive environment with a focus on patient care and professional development.
The successful candidates will have significant surgical experience and will join a skilled and enthusiastic team providing a full range of out-patient oral surgical treatment. Experience of treatment under conscious sedation will be of advantage. The successful candidates will be expected to offer flexibility in sessions to be worked to support the needs of the service. The post-holder will be encouraged to be involved in all departmental activities, including undergraduate and postgraduate supervision and training, the monthly teaching and training afternoons and the further development of appropriate departmental audits and outcome measures.
Clinical duties within the Oral Surgery Department and Primary Care Unit involve the outpatient and day case care of patients at the Birmingham Dental Hospital, as directed by the Consultant in charge of the Department or their nominated deputy. The post holder is clinically and managerially responsible to the Head of Service in Oral Surgery.
The Birmingham Dental Hospital is an undergraduate dental teaching hospital that shares purpose-built accommodation with the School of Dentistry of the University of Birmingham. It is sited in new purpose-built premises close to the main university campus in Edgbaston, with good transport links to the city centre and main railway station. The Dental Hospital provides outpatient and day case services with approximately 130,000 patient attendances per annum.
