A leading health service provider in England is seeking a Specialist Urgent Care Therapist to join their Accident and Emergency team. The successful candidate will deliver integrated assessments and rehabilitation, focusing on preventing unnecessary hospital admissions and facilitating safe discharges. This is an exciting opportunity to join the Allied Health Professional team working in Accident and Emergency.
The philosophy of the therapy team working in A and E is to provide holistic, highly skilled, integrated assessment and rehabilitation by an experienced multi-disciplinary team to prevent unnecessary hospital admission, facilitate safe and efficient discharges reducing pressures on secondary care and supporting the care closer to home agenda.
This exciting role works closely with the community teams to support and facilitate timely, functional assessments and discharges to patients to prevent unnecessary hospital admission and facilitate safe, effective discharge to the most appropriate environment.
You must be able to work across the service seven days a week 7am - 8pm, including Bank Holidays.
This role is suitable for Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists and would suit an existing band 6 or an experienced band 5 looking to develop.
There are opportunities to work across the acute medical unit as part of this role.
