A college group in the UK is looking for a Print & Textiles Technician to join its Creative Industries team. This role involves supporting students with their creative projects by maintaining equipment and ensuring facilities run smoothly. Brighton Met College, part of the Chichester College Group, is seeking a passionate Print & Textiles Technician to join our vibrant and friendly Creative Industries team at Brighton Met.
You will keep displays up to date, be a key part of building and setting up the METFest End of Year show and help to organise studio spaces. From preparing screen‑printing equipment and maintaining sewing machines to helping students bring their creative visions to life, you will support the next generation of designers and makers.
You will ensure our specialist facilities run smoothly, maintain health and safety standards, and work alongside talented teaching staff who are as passionate about print and textiles as you are.
Hands‑on experience in print, textiles or a related field, with a strong understanding of the relevant equipment and techniques. Safety‑conscious, well‑organised and comfortable working independently and as part of a supportive team.
A Level 2 qualification in a relevant subject area and basic literacy and numeracy qualifications (or willingness to achieve these) are essential.
Local Government Pension Scheme – 20.4% contribution. 25 days annual leave, increasing to 28 days with continuous service, plus bank holidays and college closure days over the Christmas period. Wellbeing day and the opportunity to purchase up to 5 additional days.
