Overview

Specialist pharmacist, Barts Heart Centre, St Bartholomew’s Hospital

• Band: 7
• Hours: 37.5 a week
• Fixed term 12 months

Role and Responsibilities

This fixed term opportunity will support the provision of a 7-day clinical pharmacy service to several cardiac specialities, cardiology, cardiothoracic, GUCH, pre-admission clinics and primary care work. You will work with medical and nursing staff on medicines management matters to optimise medicines use within the trust for patients with cardiovascular disease.

• Support lead pharmacist for cardiovascular services in providing responsible, safe and cost-effective prescribing within the networks
• Optimise patient outcomes
• Minimise adverse reactions
• Improve medicines safety
• Lead on delivering Medicines Optimisation and Governance Strategy across the Trust through leadership of clinical staff and publication/implementation of guidelines and procedures
