An exciting specialist nurse opportunity to cover Maternity leave within the Renal multi professional team to ensure that patientss receive seamless care within the Renal Assessment Service (RAS) & Renal Outpatient Department (ROPD) within The Northern Care Alliance - including within associated Kidney Care Centre's and Community Teams.

Main duties of the job

To provide specialist advice to support the assessment, planning and implementation of programmes of care of renal patients at Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust including within associated Kidney Care Centre's and Community Teams.

To lead on and provide independent RAS nurse-led clinics for patients within renal services facilitating admission avoidance & discharge facilitation.

To lead on, establish and maintain specialist education and training programmes for other staff and learners.

To lead on service development within RAS & ROPD to provide new and on-going developments in working practices to improve the quality of care delivered and resilience within the

Person Specification
Registrations and Qualification
  • Registered Nurse with current NMC registration (Part 1 Adult / General Level 1 or 2)
  • Degree / Diploma in Nursing studies or equivalent
  • NMP certification
Essential Qualifications
  • First Degree in nursing or an equivalent portfolio of evidence
  • Post basic qualification in renal nursing, eg. Renal Course
Knowledge
  • Substantial post registration experience plus extensive experience within Renal
  • Evidence of professional/clinical knowledge in area supplemented by specialist clinical, managerial training and CPD
  • Evidence of proactive involvement in the mentorship and development of nurses and nursing practice
  • Effective communicator able to communicate complex and sensitive information
  • Evidence of relevant involvement in meeting the Trust clinical governance objectives
  • Evidence of involvement in policy and practice change.
