Qualifications

  • Registered with the HCPC as a Biomedical Scientist.
  • Evidence of CPD.
  • Evidence of practical analytical and technical skills associated with highly complex laboratory work.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake routine and specialist laboratory techniques.
  • Record information on the pathology laboratory information system.
  • Identify and elevate issues that could compromise service delivery.
  • Support continuous improvement of laboratory quality and efficiency.

Skills

Post‑HCPC registration
Recent laboratory experience in Microbiology
Knowledge of ISO 15189 requirements
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal and time‑management skills

Education

Registered with the HCPC as a Biomedical Scientist
Biomedical science or equivalent degree
IBMS Certificate of Competence/CPSM Logbook
