Job description
Overview

Salford Dietetics is a forward-thinking team with a deserved reputation for quality improvement, service development and research activities. This fixed term contract will be based on the two Major Trauma Wards at Greater Manchester Major Trauma Hospital at Salford Royal Hospital.

Role and supervision

You will be part of the Critical Care and Trauma Dietetic team and be supervised and supported by the critical care team lead dietitian. This role will enhance your development of clinical and professional skills within the specialty of Major Trauma Dietetics. You will be encouraged to participate within regular CPD sessions across the dietetic department.

Responsibilities
  • Attend weekly ward MDT and monthly clinical governance meetings.
  • Involvement in training of staff members on a regular basis to enhance their knowledge of the importance on nutrition in Major Trauma patients.
  • Day to day activities but will allow you to develop a wide range of clinical skills.
  • Within the wider dietetic team there are opportunities to develop other skills such as supervision, training and taking part in/leading on audits and QI projects.
Qualifications and experience
  • Good post registration experience of working as a Band 5/6.
