Job description

1WTE Band 6 Dietician within the Children and Young People's Eating Disorders Service. The Eating Disorder Service is currently undergoing a period of significant growth and development, creating an exciting opportunity to join our expanding team. Based at the Reginald Centre, our multi-disciplinary team works in close partnership with acute hospitals and third‑sector organisations to deliver high‑quality care across the Leeds district.

The post holder will provide specialist dietetic assessment, treatment, and management for service users within the Eating Disorder Service. Working as part of an MDT, you will contribute to the delivery of evidence‑based, patient‑centred care across the community and acute settings. The role involves supporting service users with complex nutritional needs, contributing to care planning, and promoting recovery through safe and effective dietary management.

The role is primarily based at the Reginald Centre, with regular travel required across Leeds, to support service provision in both the outreach and in‑reach pathways. Some interventions may be delivered in family homes as well as in acute hospital sites across both LTHT and LYPFT trusts.

Main duties of the job

You will be required to undertake comprehensive dietetic assessments of service users presenting with eating disorders, including complex medical, nutritional, and psychological needs as well as develop, implement, and monitor individualised nutritional care plans in collaboration with service users, families, and carers. You will be required to provide specialist dietetic advice and interventions, including meal planning, weight restoration, and nutritional rehabilitation as well as monitor all associated risks.

You will be required to contribute to service development initiatives, ensuring dietetic input remains aligned with best practice, NICE guidance, and emerging evidence. You will also be required to represent dietetics within the Eating Disorder Service, working closely with partner organisations including LTHT, LYPFT, and third‑sector providers. Personal and professional development is key to this role working inline with CPD requirements set out by the BDA and HCPC. Supervision and training is available.
