Qualifications

Job description

We are recruiting for a passionate, forward-thinking, and experienced Sous Chef to work alongside our Head Chef and Senior Sous Chef to manage daily kitchen activities, including overseeing staff, aiding with menu preparation, ensuring food quality and freshness, and monitoring ordering and stocking.

The main job elements include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting the kitchen operation including food service and managing the kitchen team when required
  • Providing guidance to junior kitchen staff members, including, but not limited, to line cooking, food preparation, and dish plating
  • Supervises all food preparation and presentation to ensure quality and restaurant standards
  • Working with Head Chef to maintain kitchen organization, staff ability, and training opportunities
  • Verifying that food storage units all meet standards and are consistently well-managed
  • Coordinating with restaurant management team on supply ordering, budget, and kitchen efficiency and staffing
  • Ensuring the entire kitchen team adhere to quality, hygiene, and cleanliness standards
  • Assisting with managing the food inventory and ordering stock
  • Ensuring that customers receive excellent quality food

Are dedicated and passionate about food... an interest in Scottish food and utilising local produce is a plus.

Have at least two years experience in a Sous Chef position
