Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is seeking a Solutions Architect to lead M365 and SharePoint migrations. Responsibilities include designing information architecture, conducting workshops, and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure successful migration strategies. The ideal candidate will have proven experience with SharePoint Online and a deep understanding of M365 compliance features. This is a short-term remote contract with a day rate of £500.

Overview

Job Title: Solutions Architect - M365 / SharePoint Migration

Location: United Kingdom (Remote Working)

Day Rate: £500 (Inside IR35)

Start Date: Mid-October

Job Type: Short term contract

Responsibilities

• Lead discovery workshops covering retention and sensitivity labels, DMS features, file share and Content Manager overviews, and proposed migration approach
• Design information architecture including site topologies, metadata, document sets, content types, workflows, permissions, and governance models (e.g., RACI, DLP)
• Analyse file server reports (e.g., TreeSize Pro) and assess Content Manager environments to inform migration strategy
• Advise on Microsoft Purview compliance capabilities and assist with organisational governance models
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment on migration objectives and technical solutions
• Deliver workshops, training, and knowledge transfer sessions for technical and business audiences
• Support migration planning, risk assessment, and ongoing optimisation of M365 environments

Required Skills / Experience

The ideal candidate will have the following:

• Proven experience delivering SharePoint Online migrations
• Deep knowledge of M365 suite and Microsoft Purview compliance features
• Strong understanding of information architecture, including content types, metadata, workflows, permissions, and governance
• Experience with Content Manager platforms (v10.1 preferred)
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation skills
• Ability to analyse file server data and create actionable migration strategies
