Solicitor - Planning - Bristol - 2+ Years PQE

Location: Bristol

Type of Role: Permanent, Full-time

Salary: £55,000 to £70,000, dependent on experience

A respected law firm is seeking a Planning Associate with at least 2 years' post-qualification experience to join its nationally recognised Planning team in Bristol. This is an excellent opportunity to work on some of the UK's most significant development and infrastructure projects, within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.

The Role

You'll be responsible for managing a varied caseload of planning matters, including:

  • Strategic residential and infrastructure development
  • Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects and Transport & Works Act Orders
  • Planning obligations and community infrastructure levy
  • Lawful development certificates and highways advice
  • Supporting property teams on acquisitions and disposals
  • Advising on contentious matters such as enforcement, compulsory purchase, judicial reviews, and appeals
  • Liaising with clients, consultants, and stakeholders across multiple sectors
Candidate Requirements
  • 2+ years PQE in planning law
  • Experience in residential development and/or energy-related projects
  • Strong technical and drafting skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Confidence in managing matters independently
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Motivation, organisation, and a proactive mindset
  • Genuine interest in policy developments and sustainability
  • Willingness to attend sector events and grow professional networks
