Controls Software Engineer

Location: Sturmer / Haverhill

WFH 1 day a week

We are recruiting on behalf of a confidential engineering business for a Controls Software Engineer to deliver automation projects across pharmaceutical, cosmetics, and food & beverage sectors. This is a software-focused role within a stable, close-knit design team, offering long‑term security and technical development.

Key Requirements
  • 3+ years' experience in controls / automation software
  • Strong Siemens PLC experience (TIA Portal, S7-1200 / 1500) desirable
  • Allen Bradley ControlLogix desirable
  • HNC or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or similar
  • Background in control systems or electrical controls
  • Able to work independently in a project‑led environment
The Role
  • Develop and implement PLC software for automation projects
  • Support commissioning, testing, and fault‑finding
  • Work closely with engineering and design teams
  • Support service engineers with upgrades and customer queries
  • Occasional travel (c. 10‑15 days per year)
