Job description

On behalf of our client, we are seeking to recruit someone as a Software Engineer for 12 months. As a Software Engineer, you will join a team implementing a demonstration system for a complex new Command and Control capability, this extends existing concepts and logic. If the demonstration is successful, it may develop into a development project for a fully operational capability.

Role: Software Engineer

Pay £65 per hour via Umbrella

Contract: Monday-Friday, 37 Hours per week, 12-month contract

Location: Bristol

IR35 Status: Inside

Security Clearance: SC to start

Responsibilities

• Developing and testing complex C++ business logic.
• Collaboration with internal algorithm teams to create code to execute algorithms, implement complex transformation logic and verification implementation. We expect several iterations using a CI/CD approach.
• Implementation of interfaces to internal and external systems.
• Extension of existing software to create components that will run in in a virtual environment and supporting the deployment of software.

Essential Requirements/Skills/Experience

• Strong experience in C++ application development.
• A strong background in software engineering, its realisation and system wide impact.
• Experience in CI/CD pipelines, GitLab, Docker.
• Experience of developing software for virtual environments.
• Knowledge of safety and security related development and associated standards is advantageous.
• Knowledge of Data Distribution Service (DDS) is advantageous.
