Job description

BiologIC Technologies is pioneering a new era in biologics development with Qudos, our high-performance, production grade bioprocessing platform. Qudos enables scientists and engineers to master biologics faster by combining cutting-edge processing power and reproducibility. Mastery is built on truth, and Qudos delivers the accuracy and scalability needed to accelerate discovery and development of advanced biologics.

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join and contribute in a highly dynamic and multidisciplinary environment.

Knowledge & Technical Expertise
  • Strong proficiency in backend development (Python and/or Golang preferred)
  • Deep understanding of API and microservice architecture, including RESTful and event-driven systems
  • Experience with data storage and processing pipelines (PostgreSQL, InfluxDB, TimescaleDB, or similar)
  • Competence in cloud infrastructure (AWS or equivalent) and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g. Terraform)
  • Knowledge of authentication and authorisation frameworks (OAuth2, OpenID Connect, Entra ID) and role-based access control (RBAC)
  • Working understanding of mathematical simulation, including 2D graph or network-based computation, deterministic problem solving, and model validation
  • Awareness of embedded systems integration (e.g. Zephyr RTOS, C++) and their interaction with backend services
  • Awareness of front-end frameworks (React, TypeScript) and API interface design for UI developers
  • Strong experience of developing Linux based systems and applications
  • Experience with containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines
  • Strong appreciation of software security, testing, and performance optimisation
Skills & Competencies
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver robust, production-grade software systems to defined outcomes and timelines
  • Skilled at translating physical or process systems into structured, mathematical, or graph-based software logic
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical reasoning, particularly in the context of network or process simulation
  • Proven ability to design for scalability, maintainability, and reliability
  • Comfortable collaborating across embedded, UI, and scientific teams to integrate diverse system components
  • Excellent technical communication and documentation skills
  • Strong discipline in code management, testing, and continuous improvement (Git, CI/CD, automated testing)
  • Outcome-driven mindset with focus on delivering measurable progress and product value
  • Adaptable, curious, and resourceful; thrives in a multi-disciplinary R&D environment
Experience & Requirements
  • 5+ years professional software development experience, including leading or owning delivery of major features or systems
  • Proven record of successful project delivery in a scientific, industrial, or data-intensive environment
  • Experience applying mathematical or computational modelling to real-world engineering or process systems
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related discipline, or equivalent hands‑on experience
  • Familiarity with graph or simulation libraries (e.g. NetworkX, SciPy, NumPy, or similar)
  • Exposure to scientific or industrial instrumentation (desirable but not essential)
