A government department is seeking a Software Developer to help in developing high-quality software and maintaining live services. This role requires experience in modern programming languages, full stack development, and working within test-driven development. As a Software Developer, you'll:
Here at the Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government (MHCLG), we work on things that make a real difference to people's lives. Whether it's through the homes we live in, the work of our local councils, or the communities we're all part of, our work is at the top of the political agenda. We have ambitious and far-reaching outcomes to achieve this year and, if you're thinking of joining us, there's never been a more exciting time. This is an exciting time to join MHCLG, with roles in teams including data collection as a service (DCaaS) team/Delta which is our data-collection and grant payment platform and Digital Planning. We think it should be simple for local authorities to provide data and easy for analysts to use data. We can then put high quality data at the centre of decision making and reduce as much as possible the time spent collating and providing information. You will be working as part of our development team to deliver new features, improve existing functionality and support users of our services. You will ensure services are user-centred, accessible, scalable, and aligned to government technology standards, delivering simpler, faster, and more transparent services for all users.
