Software Configuration Management
Profile
  • You graduated with a Master of Engineering or Computer Science or in University (ideally in software engineering), and you have significant experience in software development.
  • You have already worked in an integrated team within large scopes, combining specific developments and off‑the‑shelf solutions; furthermore, you particularly appreciate collaborative work and enjoy stimulating exchanges.
  • You have outstanding problem‑solving skills and a passion to solve difficult issues.
  • You love to invest in the development of others.
  • You are said to be tenacious and rigorous.

  • You are able to apply configuration management in line with the contractual requirements and requirements coming from the various stakeholders.
  • You are proficient with the processes and tools traditionally used by Thales in the area of software configuration management and know how to use Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools.
  • You are able to adapt to various development model practices and to apply Agile methods.
  • You are proficient with continuous integration.
  • You are able to manage complexity.

Life as a Thales Software Configuration Management role
  • Coordinate all the Configuration Management activities within your projects in collaboration with all the stakeholders, in particular the Software Manager (SW WPM) and the Solution CM.
  • Establish and/or implement the Configuration Management Plan.
  • Specify the Configuration Management requirements to subcontractors and suppliers through statements of work (if needed) and ensure that the Configuration Management requirements are properly implemented (development of the SOW, etc.) and that they are respected.
  • Participate in the selection of configuration items and the establishment of the various breakdown structures.
  • Ensure identification activities, piloting and implementation (CI selection, breakdown structures identification, baseline needs).
  • Manage the corrections and evolutions on the projects; lead the commissions (TEB/CCB or SCCB).
  • Establish the configuration baselines (FBL, ABL, PBL, and all baselines according to project’s needs).
  • Ensure the recording and the restitution of the configuration status.
  • Perform configuration verifications.
  • Perform or participate in Functional and Physical configuration audits.
  • Participate in end‑of‑phase reviews (PDR, CDR).
  • Raise awareness, advise and share best practices with the various contributors on the implementation of configuration management.
  • Set up, maintain and develop software production resources.
  • Participate in the development and maintenance of the team's internal tools and in the deployment of these tools on all projects.
  • Provide support to project members (developers, integrators).
  • Manage the software versions of our systems from production to customer.

This role will require SC clearance

This role will require SC Clearance. It would be advantageous if currently held, however, if not currently held, it is a requirement that the successful applicant will undergo, achieve, and maintain SC Clearance. Please visit the UKSV website for further guidance. To be eligible for full SC, you generally need to have resided in the UK for the last 5 years. In some circumstances, a minimum of 3 years’ residence in the UK over the last 5 years may be accepted, with additional overseas checks.
