Job summary

A leading educational support provider in Gateshead is seeking a dedicated individual to support pupils with their learning. The ideal candidate will hold a Sociology degree and have experience with children. Responsibilities include working with small groups and creating supportive learning environments. What you’ll be doing:
  • Supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups, helping them access learning
  • Using your Sociology know‑how to understand behaviour and build trust
  • Creating calm, structured routines that help pupils feel safe
  • Working with teachers, SENCOs and therapists to adapt activities
  • Celebrating every small win, because progress looks different for every child
What we’re looking for:
  • A Sociology degree or similar people‑focused subject
  • Experience with children or young people, either voluntary or paid
  • Someone patient, warm, and genuinely interested in SEND
  • A good communicator who can stay calm when things get loud or lively
