Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for an Experienced Social Worker to join the Adult Social Care team at Swindon Borough Council. The successful candidate will join a friendly, supportive and dynamic team, with supervision and continuing professional development opportunities. This role involves working with adults using a person-centred, strengths-based approach and delivering high-quality care planning that incorporates the voice of service users and multidisciplinary colleagues to enable safe discharge.

Responsibilities

• Complete assessments and manage complex case work, providing high standards of care and timely discharges.
• Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to support residents of Swindon to maximise independence.
• Apply a person-centred, strengths-based approach to social work practice.
• Contribute to care planning that reflects service user voices, families/carers, and external agencies.
• Engage in supervision, professional development, and participate in the ongoing improvement journey of Adult Social Care.

Requirements

• Formal social work degree and Social Work England registration.
• Valid driving licence and access to a car.
• Fluency in English (as required for customer-facing roles).

Working pattern

This is a 5 days over 7 position, with some weekend working required. Currently a '1 weekend day in 4' arrangement.
