Overview

Social Worker for Assessment Team in Peterborough, UK. Full-time earning £40 hourly. Ongoing. This is an exciting opportunity to be a pivotal part of a dynamic team dedicated to safeguarding children’s welfare. Responsibilities
  • Respond to referrals with concerns about child safety or wellbeing.
  • Conduct home visits and engage directly with children and families.
  • Ensure the child’s voice is central to assessments and decisions.
  • Perform statutory duties such as Section 17 Single Assessments and Section 47 Enquiries.
  • Participate in Initial Child Protection Conferences and Child in Need meetings.
  • Prepare Section 7 reports for private law proceedings when involved.
  • Work in a rota system, focusing on new referrals every three weeks, allowing concentration on ongoing cases.
  • Collaborate with an Advice and Information Officer, Children’s Social Care Practitioner, and business support staff for streamlined administrative tasks and direct work with families.
