Overview
We are looking to recruit a Social Worker for the Adults Mental Health Team within the Social Care Industry. Our client has a well-structured and organised team that are looking to grow their staffing levels. The role offers flexible working hours and has a supportive team culture with regular supervision on cases. North Somerset is embedding a systemic approach and is currently undergoing a number of changes focused on reducing caseloads and improving outcomes for families. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced and supportive team within North Somerset Council.
Responsibilities
- Use professional knowledge to assess, monitor and review social care needs of individuals, relatives and carers and arrange the provision of appropriate care services.
- Have significant knowledge, experience and specialist communication skills to gather information and make a full assessment of the risks, protection and social care needs of individuals, carers and families.
- Work within a multidisciplinary team, be able to work independently and as an autonomous professional; take appropriate action, in conjunction with other agencies, to protect and safeguard adults at risk based on needs and risks of the individual.
- Manage an agreed caseload and complete a fast turnover of casework.
- Use paper and computerised case recording systems, produce reports and capture and analyse information.
- Some knowledge of care benefits, fees and allowances would be helpful.
- Assess risks, needs and information, recognise problems; understand philosophies, professional social work issues and the legal framework underpinning care services.
- Fulfil transport requirements.
- Experience and good knowledge of the principles and processes of working with safeguarding adults at risk.
- Framework I desirable or equivalent.
Qualifications / Skills
- Significant knowledge and experience in adult social care and safeguarding.
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and independently as required.
- Proficiency with case recording systems and ability to produce reports.
- Understanding of relevant legal frameworks underpinning care services.
- Ability to manage caseloads and prioritise responsibilities.
