Job description

Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency, has a new permanent position available for a Social Worker within the Missing & Exploitation Team, based in Horsham.

The salary for this permanent Social Worker role is up to £45,650 per annum.

Responsibilities:
  1. Assess, plan, review, and provide support to children, families, or carers with complex social care needs, considering legal frameworks, policies, and guidance.
  2. Assess family functioning and provide help when relationship breakdowns threaten the wellbeing of children at risk of abuse or neglect.
  3. Collaborate effectively with other professionals to support children, young people, and families in gaining control of their lives, especially when safety or community participation is restricted.
  4. Conduct assessments or enquiries and develop responses to safeguard children from abuse, neglect, or exploitation, including intervention when necessary, such as removing a child from their parents or carers.
  5. Arrange appropriate alternative care, including permanent homes, in collaboration with children, young people, and their families when needed.
  6. Make recommendations regarding statutory intervention thresholds.
  7. Promote autonomy and development among individuals with complex social needs or vulnerabilities, such as those with disabilities or experiencing exclusion.
  8. Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of case activities and participate in planning and decision-making forums like case discussions, Strategy Meetings, and Child Protection Conferences.
  9. Work within project or process teams to ensure high-quality cross-functional outputs.
Requirements:
  • A social work qualification or equivalent.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation.
  • Registration with Social Work England.
