Flexible working will be part of the discussion at offer stage.

Purpose of the role

We’re looking for a strategic, experienced and creative social media leader to be our Social Media Manager - Social Campaigns - BBC Three, responsible for leading the social campaigns for some of the very biggest TV programmes at the BBC, with a strong focus on BBC Three. Line managing a team of four and reporting to the Head of Social, iPlayer and Three, the role will help deliver a coherent, consistent social media experience for UK 16-34s, with a strong focus on 16-24, working closely with the TV Social Production, Edit and Planning teams as well as other promotional, editorial and production teams at the BBC, to ensure each campaign delivers on the agreed social strategy, maximises engaged reach with young audiences, delivers content of the highest creative quality, and drives traffic around the BBC portfolio and reaches youth audiences at scale.

Why join the team

If you’re a wizard of media production and understand the commissioning process like the back of your hand, then read on. You’ll be a leader, an influencer, a champion of new ideas, steering world-leading creative campaigns with confidence and originality. Your experience in both managing teams and anticipating the audience desires across platforms and devices will be your secret weapon, allowing you to translate behaviours into winning social strategies that drive youth-skewing content across the UK and drive journeys to iPlayer.

Your key responsibilities and impact
  • Oversee a range of social media campaigns, acting as the strategic and editorial lead for those campaigns across all social platforms, working closely with the Publishing, Production, Edit and Planning teams to align strategy
  • Help lead BBC TV's strategic and creative development in the social space, setting strategy at a campaign level
  • Work closely with Commissioning to plan/guide social activity around priority programmes
  • Manage team resource and processes to ensure that we maximise our UK under-35 engaged reach at a campaign level
  • Ensure social campaigns are delivering on our agreed quality metrics, as well as achieving relevance and scale
  • Work closely with the relevant talent and Content stakeholders to align programme priorities and social activity, reporting to senior stakeholders as required
  • Work closely with the social Publishing, Production and Edit teams to ensure programme, asset and account priorities are aligned
