A local government authority in Scotland is seeking a dedicated individual to provide care to older adults. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to achieving an SVQ Level 2 in Social Care. Flexibility to work shifts is essential, and support will be provided for training and development.
Working as part of a team you will be responsible for the delivery of care to older adults consistent with Social Work policies and procedures. This will involve assisting residents in all aspects of personal and social care in a way which respects their dignity as individuals and promotes their maximum independence.
You must enjoy working with older people and understand their needs; be an effective communicator, showing a professional and courteous manner to residents, relatives, carers, health professionals and other agencies; be able to work on your own initiative and be flexible and adaptable with the capacity to learn and apply new skills.
You will be fully supported by senior staff in achieving a high standard of work and given the opportunity to attend relevant training courses to develop your knowledge and skills.
Desirable and essential qualifications and requirements:
