A local government authority in Macclesfield is seeking a full-time Social Care Assessor to support the Adult Contact Team. Cheshire East Council (CEC) is looking for a self-motivated full time Social Care Assessor to join our innovative and friendly Adult Social Care Teams. This is a 12 month temporary post to support the Adult Contact Team here at Cheshire East Council.
The Adult Contact Team work with people in a way which is preventative and ensures individuals are supported to develop and maintain an independent life, maximising the use of signposting, advice and support which would prevent, reduce or delay the need for care and support, or reduce the needs of carers.
This post will provide you a wide range of learning and training opportunities and includes joint working across the Health and Social Care sector. It will provide you with an excellent opportunity to progress your career and will offer you a wide range of experiences within Adult Social Care services.
There is a vacancy in the East of the Council, based at Macclesfield.
The Adult Community Teams are part of the wider Care Community Partnerships with GP’s, Matrons, Mental Health services, Housing and voluntary sector services as they take a collaborative approach to supporting people within its footprint. The Community Teams provide support for any adults over the age of 18 years and includes, adult safeguarding, those with a learning disability, autism, mental health concerns, physical disabilities and homelessness. This is an exciting opportunity for a Social Care Assessor to develop new and innovative ways of working and it is therefore essential that you have an appropriate Health & Social care qualification and experience of adult social care and be able to work under pressure. The successful applicant will need to be able to adopt a flexible approach to their work and be a good team player. Hybrid working of being home or office based are available. Having a car is a necessity as you may be expected to undertake visits and attend training sessions.
The post holder will be based at Macclesfield Town Hall but there may be a necessity to travel to other bases.
