About this Role

The Grove School, part of the SEARCH Education Trust, is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our students and young people. The successful applicant will therefore be required to complete checks in line with the requirements of Keeping Children Safe in Education with regard to DBS and other pre-employment checks.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Some experience of working with students, including those with additional needs such as autism.
  • A flexible and proactive approach to supporting students.
  • Ability to communicate well with students, teachers and adults.
  • Completion, or readiness to complete the induction programme.
  • A commitment to safeguarding children.
Responsibilities
  • Support pupils during lunchtime, including in the lunch hall or playground.
  • Support classes briefly before and after lunch as allocated.
  • Cover for absences within the school on a voluntary basis.
  • Work flexible days: 7 hours a week term time only (2 hours each day over the lunch period) spread over 3.5 days a week (2 days the first week and 3 days the second week).
Contract Details

Full job share arrangement: if one partner resigns or leaves, the remaining partner may be offered the full‑time position or the role may be advertised externally. This decision is based on business needs and operational requirements.
