Job description

Veterinary Surgeon – Surgical Interest
This 24-Hour hospital team is looking for a Veterinary Surgeon with a passion for surgery to join a well-established and growing team. Located in a picturesque part of East Yorkshire, this hospital offers a modern and supportive environment for developing your clinical interests. Whether you’re seeking a full-time or part-time position, they can discuss a working pattern that suits your lifestyle.
You’ll be working alongside a committed team led by an experienced Lead Vet, with support from a Head Nurse, a group of skilled vets, registered veterinary nurses, student nurses, patient care assistants, client care assistants and administrative staff. A dedicated out-of-hours team ensures 24-hour care, allowing for seamless support around the clock.
The hospital boasts extensive facilities, including three operating theatres with advanced surgical equipment, 24-hour hospitalisation, and dedicated dog, cat, exotic and isolation wards. They have a wide range of diagnostic tools including ultrasound, doppler, digital x-ray, CT, endoscopy, rhinoscopy, arthroscopy and diagnostic ECG. The in-house lab provides a full suite of testing, and they also offer hydrotherapy, an underwater treadmill and laser therapy.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is confident managing non-routine surgeries and keen to take the clinical lead in a surgical capacity. You will enjoy a varied caseload with a mix of first-opinion and referral work in a hospital setting that truly supports professional growth.
They are pleased to offer a relocation package
You’ll benefit from private medical insurance and a health cash plan that includes dental, physio, optical and access to a 24/7 private GP service. Life assurance at three times your salary, as well as access to round-the-clock counselling support. Holiday entitlement starts at five weeks plus bank holidays and rises to six weeks with length of service. You’ll also receive a paid ‘Day for You’ to use however you wish. Our CPD allowance is £1,500 per year with three days of paid leave, and they offer internal CPD opportunities through Clinical Communities. Professional development is supported with funded certificate options, and they cover your RCVS, VDS and BVA fees. Also in the offer is a sabbatical scheme based on your length of service, along with a Cycle to Work scheme, and staff discounts
For those requiring visa sponsorship, they can offer full support with a Certificate of Sponsorship under a Tier 2 (General) Visa.
