Qualifications

  • Valid UK Driving License is required.

We are looking for an experienced Class 1 Welder/Fabricator/Plater that will be responsible for performing a variety of fabricating and welding activities to support the manufacturing facility using Carbon, Stainless Steels & High Nickel Alloys. We will require you to have a strong understanding of processes and materials to fulfil delivery of Flare Tips, Power Burner, Process Burners, Skids and Pressure Vessel fabrications. Your ability to interpret engineering drawings to determine materials and cutting lists as well as planning task sequences will be crucial. Key to this role will be your ability to determine priorities to ensure continuous workflow between disciplines ultimately achieving target dates and on‑time delivery.

Key responsibilities
  • Fabricating and welding parts from engineering drawings and ensuring high‑quality standards are met.
  • Interpreting isometric and engineering drawings to fabricate parts.
  • Understanding both imperial and metric dimensions.
  • Preparing parts for welding, including sawing, drilling, grinding, pipe bending, and threading.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe working environment while adhering to health and safety standards and regulations.
  • Performing or preparing for Class 1 / ISO 3834 welding activities, including understanding and interpreting Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS). Welding joints (fillet, lap, corner, and butt, open and double‑sided) in compliance with ASME IX and ISO 15614 standards.
Skills and experience required
  • Proven experience in fabricating within sectors such as Oil & Gas, Pipefitting, Pressure Vessel, or similar environments is advantageous.
  • Strong capability to accurately read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • GCSEs in Maths, English, and Science (Grades A‑C) preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with team members and management.
  • Reliable team player with a solid track record of punctuality and excellent attendance.
  • Highly organized, efficient, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Assertive with a proactive approach to problem‑solving and decision‑making.
  • Meticulous and conscientious, focused on maintaining high‑quality standards.
  • Valid UK Driving License; a forklift license is advantageous.
Other useful information
  • This position is based on site at our Oakham Manufacturing facility (PE9 4AQ).
  • Working hours 7:30 am – 4 pm (Monday to Thursday), 7:30 am – 1 pm (Friday).
