We are recruiting forTraffic Management (TM) Civils Skilled Operatives to join us here at Octavius. This is an exciting role encompassing both classic civils works as well as TMresponsibilities.

We are a leading civil engineering organisation delivering safe, sustainable, and efficient transport solutions across the UK.

You’ll be working on…. (what your role and responsibility is)

  • To install, maintain and remove traffic management on rural and urban roads (low speed roads, Lantra 12D).
  • Ensurepedestrian routes are safe, well maintained and accessible. Boundary fencing is kept secure and barriers are maintained.
  • Responsible for ensuring that traffic management is maintained to the required standard to inform motorists clearly and keep pedestrians and our workforce safe.
  • Usually working as part of a two‑person team, installing traffic management in advance of the site team and removing it after the end of their shift.
  • Carrying out maintenance checks and maintaining traffic management as required throughout the shift.
  • Working as part of the civils delivery team during the rest of the day, as directed by the site leadership team.

  • General knowledge of health, safety and wellbeing.
  • General knowledge of low‑speed traffic management (NRSWA or Lantra 12D techniques, required standards and layouts).
  • Significant experience of working in a construction environment, ideally on the highway, delivering groundworks schemes (kerbing, drainage, ducting, paving, surfacing etc), whilst interacting with members of the public.
  • Full UK driving license, for a minimum of two years
  • NRSWA Signing Lighting and Guarding O1 or S1 (or equivalent qualification / relevant experience)
  • CSCS / CPCS Card for civils activities
  • Safety Critical Medical
