M&E Site Supervisor – Substations

Location : South Wales / South West England

Contract Type : Permanent

Salary : £50,000 – £60,000 per annum + Company vehicle and fuel card for business use

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced M&E Site Supervisor to oversee mechanical and electrical works on high-voltage substation projects across South Wales and South West England.

In this role, you will supervise site activities, manage multi-disciplinary teams, and support the Site Manager to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards. The role involves travel across multiple sites and requires a full UK driving licence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise site operations across multiple mechanical and electrical disciplines, ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards
  • Assist the Site Manager in maintaining programme schedules and site documentation
  • Manage and motivate site personnel, agency staff, and subcontractors
  • Coordinate the allocation and use of materials, tools, and equipment efficiently
  • Implement and maintain SHES plans, ensuring daily inspections and inductions are completed
  • Maintain accurate site records and complete quality documentation
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, contractors, and stakeholders
  • Proactively identify, address, and resolve site issues
Required Skills and Experience
  • SSSTS Site Supervisor qualification and minimum of CSCS / CPCS / ECITB Supervisor Safety Passport / Card
  • Authorised as a National Grid Competent Person
  • Proven ability to manage own workload autonomously, with pace, attention to detail, and strong organisational skills
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to problem-solve, anticipate challenges, and implement effective solutions
  • Competent in Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Experience working on high-voltage substation projects (up to 400kV preferred)
  • Full UK driving licence with willingness to travel between sites
