Job description

As a Property Maintenance Operative, you will work as part of a dedicated team to ensure our premises are maintained safely and effectively, meeting Health & Safety and customer requirements. Supporting and monitoring contractors on site, ensuring compliance with pre‑approved risk assessments and method statements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conducting routine and scheduled maintenance inspections and basic repairs, adhering to machinery regulations and Health & Safety protocols.
  • Updating information via our electronic online portal.
  • Carrying out a variety of tasks such as plumbing, carpentry, and painting to keep our sites fully operational.
  • Working in a physical, hands‑on capacity, which may occasionally involve working at heights.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Identify and report the need for major repairs.
  • Use PPE as required.
  • Undertake regular site audits and escalated any abnormalities.

Additionally, we understand the value of utilising AI and other technologies to support the application process, but we encourage candidates to use them to enhance their application and not replace their own effort and authenticity. Candidates should not rely on AI‑generated responses during the interview process.

The role will be primarily based at our Northampton and Milton Keynes sites, with occasional support required at other sites in the area. A company vehicle will be provided for work‑related travel. Candidates with 2‑3 years of building maintenance experience, preferably in a logistics environment, and/or previous facilities or caretaker experience are encouraged to apply.

This is a full‑time, permanent role on a Monday to Friday shift pattern from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with a salary of £27,500 per annum.
