Job Summary: Job Title: Site HR Manager (Part-time); Location: Abercarn; Salary: up to £50,000 OTE (full time equivalent); Standard Hours: Part-time, 25 hours per week; spread out over 5 days.

Are you a dynamic HR professional ready to shape our workplace and drive success? Smurfit Westrock, a global leader in paper-based packaging, are seeking an experienced Site HR Manager to join their Senior Leadership Team in Abercarn. This standalone, part-time role (25 hours/week, Mon–Fri, hybrid and flexible) offers the chance to make a real impact across both shopfloor and office teams.

Role Responsibilities
  • Lead and deliver both day-to-day HR operations and strategic initiatives.
  • Manage recruitment, onboarding, payroll, and employee records.
  • Advise on employee relations, including grievances, disciplinary actions, and union matters.
  • Drive talent management, succession planning, and employee engagement.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive workplace culture and support professional development.
  • Partner with the Senior Leadership Team and act as a key liaison with union representatives.
About You

The successful Site HR Manager will have experience as a HR professional, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications
  • CIPD qualified or equivalent experience.
  • Strong knowledge of HR practices, employment law, and union relations.
