Job summary

A leading construction contractor is seeking a Senior Engineer for residential projects in Northern Ireland. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with project specifications and manage site activities. The role requires 10+ years of experience with a main contractor and an engineering qualification. This position also offers progression into Project Management. Competitive salary plus travel package included.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years’ experience post-graduation with a main contractor in UK or ROI.
  • Experience on timber frame or traditional build residential projects.
  • Competent in setting out, surveying, and level coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Set out and check works ensuring compliance with project specifications.
  • Liaise and coordinate with sub-contractors and site personnel.
  • Interpret drawings to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Support the Site Manager and Project Manager.
  • Maintain relationships with construction management teams.

INFORM3 Recruitment are currently recruiting on behalf of a Main Contractor for:

Job Title – Senior Engineer

Project – Residential

Job Location – Louth

Salary – €50K-€65K plus Travel Package

About the Company

Working with a Tier 1 Main Contractor based in Co. Down who specialise in residential & commercial developments across Down, Louth and North Dublin valued up to €20M.

The successful candidate will work on a project in North Dublin before moving to a new build development in Louth in the coming months. Travel costs will be covered by the business.

This role is a new role within the company to keep up with increased workload. The company are keen to chat to engineers who wish to progress into Project Management in the near future.

The Role
  • Setting out and checking works as required for the project and ensuring all works are completed in line with project drawings specifications and building regulations.
  • Liaise with and coordinate sub-contractors and personnel on site in the planning and construction of the project.
  • Read and interoperate drawings and ensure that works are completed in accordance with drawings.
  • Support the Site Manager and Project Manager to ensure works are completed as per programme and to a high standard.
  • Maintain excellent relationships with the construction management team, subcontractors and site personnel.
Requirements
  • HND / Degree Qualification in Engineering or Construction Management.
  • Must have at least 10 years’ experience post graduate with a main contractor in UK or ROI.
  • Ideally will have worked on timber frame or traditional build residential projects.
  • Ability to use setting out instruments is essential and being competent in all aspects of set out, survey & level, temporary works co-ordination.
  • Thorough knowledge of computer and database applications such as Microsoft Office and Project/PowerPoint.
