Overview

Ashton Recruitment require a Site Manager for our client based in their Belfast site.

Position: Site Engineer/Manager (Educational project)

Location: Belfast/

Duration: Permanent

Rate of Pay: Depended on experience

Hours of Work: Full time

This company is a long-established, family-run construction firm with offices across the UK and Ireland. Established in the early 1980s, it operates in both domestic and commercial sectors, delivering a broad range of building and fit-out services. With a reputation built on client satisfaction, quality workmanship, and reliability, the business has grown steadily while maintaining strong community roots and a focus on professionalism.

Duties (not limited to):

  • Assist with the purchasing and acquisition of all BOQ items for projects including labour, parts and materials
  • Manage timeline planning of all civil structural installations
  • Support with the completion of projects on time and within budget
  • Writing engineering reports, method statements and commissioning schedules in c0-ordination with other site management team members.
  • Management of Health & Safety documentation and enforcement of safe work practices onsite during all EPS installation
  • Ensure that technical assessments are completed as required and technical issues are resolved without delay
  • Manage submittals through the approvals process, track procurement and delivery of equipment and complete the receipt verification process once equipment is delivered
  • Liaise with the design team & supply chain to ensure systems are compliant with specifications and drawings
  • Attend quality meetings and participate in QA/QC walk downs when required
  • Evaluate the RFI responses to ensure that there are no engineering issues with them
  • Review and answer technical queries from site in relation to specifications/drawings/materials and equipment
  • Ensure site supervisors/sub-contractors are working off latest drawings at all times
  • Issue requisitions and ensure all materials delivered are as per specifications and submittals
  • carry out sub-contactor inspections and report same
  • chair and manage critical interface technical ,meetings between supply chain partners.
  • Ability to deliver projects on time and to perfection
  • Report directly to senior management team including contracts manager and project director
  • To provide accurate, consistent and professional records, reports and general information
  • To manage and motivate site teams
  • Conduct risk assessments
  • To follow construction drawings and works information to fine detail
  • Survey sites to mitigate problems and check viability of design
  • Organise and coordinate labour
  • Instrumental role in the negotiation of contracts in conjunction with direct and subcontract staff
  • Liaising with engineers and have an understanding of site level
Essential Criteria
  1. Proficiency in PC skills to include reading ACAD and all MS office and project software
  2. Working knowledge of conditions of contracts
  3. Excellent inter-personal skills and communication skills
  4. Strong engineering, analytical and problem solving skills
  5. Strong collaborative skills with an ability to work effectively in a team environment
  6. Organise and plan technical meetings with clients and consulting engineers
  7. Develop specific goals and plans to prioritise, organise and accomplish stated deadlines
  8. Third level Civil or Mechanical Engineering degree
  9. 3+ years experience in a similar role
  10. Full EU/ Irish driving license
  11. Sound knowledge of Engineering, construction, and design.
  12. Ability to work under one's own initiative
  13. Self-motivated hard worked
  14. Strong team building skills
  15. Have a track record of completing projects from start to finish
  16. Analytical and decision-making skills
  17. Technical and practical knowledge of the building industry is important
  18. Compliant and relevant 3rd part H&S site management training
