Qualifications

Site Engineer - Civil & Utilities Projects

About the Role

As a Site Engineer, you will be involved in coordinating and supporting on‑site activities to ensure projects progress smoothly and to the highest standards. You'll work closely with subcontractors, clients, and internal teams to maintain accurate site information and keep production aligned with agreed schedules and quality targets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Interpretation: Understand and relay construction drawings, ensuring all site personnel have clear and accurate information for layout, measurements, and installation requirements.
  • Setting Out: Establish precise levels, lines, and reference points on site and ensure all setting‑out activities are performed with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Programme Management: Support progress on site by helping to maintain schedules and ensuring key deadlines are achieved. Communicate issues or delays proactively.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors, and colleagues. Assist with coordination during planning, delivery, and handover stages.
  • Safety, Quality & Environmental Standards: Promote adherence to company and industry best practices relating to health and safety, environmental protection, and quality management. Work in line with established site procedures and compliance requirements.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry techniques and standards, sharing knowledge with the team when appropriate.
  • Policy & System Compliance: Follow all organisational procedures, documentation requirements, and integrated management system processes.
  • Other Duties: Perform any reasonable tasks aligned with the needs of the role.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications
  • Education: Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent qualification).
  • Experience: 2‑5 years in a similar position, ideally within civil engineering, utilities, or infrastructure.
  • Technical Skills: Strong numeracy skills. Confident using Excel, Outlook and digital site tools.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Certifications: Valid site cards and a full driving licence are essential.
  • Desirable: NRSWA Streetworks certification.
