Job description
Overview

We are recruiting a Site Engineer to deliver civil engineering works across water infrastructure projects in the region. The successful Site Engineer will provide site engineering support, establish survey controls, set out detailed works from contract drawings, and ensure accurate site records and quality delivery across clean water and associated civils schemes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead site engineering activities: establish level and survey control, set out works from contract drawings and verify accuracy regularly.
  • Operate and manage robotic total station / EDM instruments for setting out and verification.
  • Produce and maintain Site Diaries, Allocation Sheets, ITPs, task briefings and two‑week lookaheads with the Site Agent.
  • Prepare procurement schedules and liaise with procurement to ensure site resourcing.
  • Resolve technical issues and provide practical engineering solutions on site.
  • Promote and enforce health, safety and environmental standards (site‑level HSE ownership).
  • Drive quality‑led delivery, spotting and reporting defects, snags and value‑engineering opportunities.
  • Support temporary works coordination and produce relevant documentation as required.
Qualifications – Essential
  • Proven Site Engineer experience on clean water infrastructure projects or similar.
  • Practical experience of sewer diversions and works taking place in the highway.
  • Competent in use of robotic total station / EDM instruments for setting out.
  • HNC / Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) or demonstrable commercial site engineering experience.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, H&S legislation and site compliance.
  • Excellent communication and record‑keeping skills; self‑motivated and results driven.
  • Relevant CSCS card or equivalent site competency card.
  • Temporary Works Supervisor certification (or demonstrable temporary works experience).
  • Confined Space training.
Qualifications – Desired
  • Experience with AutoCAD and MS Office.
  • Cable avoidance training (C.A.T & Genny).
  • First aid, NEBOSH or IOSH qualifications.
