Qualifications

Job description

We are now recruiting for an experienced Site Agent for our Northern Region, initially working on schemes across Nottinghamshire, East Midlands, Derbyshire and Leicestershire. The works involve small-scale sites focused on the construction of in-channel structures and associated steelworks. Activities include installing sheet and frame cofferdams, channel fluming, reinforced concrete works, steel fabrication and installation, and minor earthworks. Enabling works will include engaging the supply chain to deliver ground investigations, advanced tree clearance, and traffic management. On completion of the enabling works programme, the project will progress to the main delivery phase, which will focus on the construction and installation of the permanent works in accordance with the design and programme requirements.

Main Duties
  • Management of site staff operatives and sub-contractors.
  • Provide method statements, hazard risk assessments and project management plans.
  • Understand tender allowances and monitor contract costs against agreed budgets.
  • Preparing and monitoring programmes of work.
  • Assessment and engagement of sub-contractors.
  • Manage design co-ordination.
  • Manage contracts to ensure timely and profitable completion of contracts.
  • Inform, consult, and involve local groups as necessary.
  • Foster good relations and reputation with clients.
  • Understand and administer contract change
Are you the person we are looking for?

Already experienced as a Site Agent you will have a relevant industry qualification (HND/ HNC/ BEng) or equivalent and an up-to-date SMSTS qualification, and appropriate CSCS card as well as be a temporary works coordinator and Cranes Appointed Person. A First Aid at work qualification is desirable.

Must haves
  • Be able to maintain and monitor works against a programme and budget.
  • Ability to prioritise own workload.
  • Able to run multiple complex and non-complex sites.
  • Maintain comprehensive records.
  • Have compliance with current legislation requirements, including the production and implementation of RAMs and other associated safety/project documentation.
  • The ability to forecast cost and programme as well as produce feasibility reports.
  • Possess good technical writing skills.
  • Experienced in leading and managing teams and supply chains.

You will have experience in the UK civils sector, working with the NEC form of contract. You will have significant main contractor civils experience working on heavy civils schemes.
