Overview

Exciting opportunities have arisen for a Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse secondment to join a fast paced ward within the Division of Medicine and Long Term Conditions Team within the Endoscopy department.

The department manages a high take of patients daily, bringing a fast pace to the unit. You will have the opportunity to participate in improvement programmes and input to change management as the department strives for high quality standards of care.

Responsibilities
  • Be the clinical lead for the unit during spans of duty; take responsibility for clinical management and nursing care in conjunction with the Senior Sister and Matron.
  • Assist in supervision and education of qualified nurses and staff in training.
  • Provide nursing care daily, working with the multidisciplinary team in a challenging but rewarding environment.
  • Develop your clinical and managerial skills under the support of the Unit Manager and Matron, leading and supporting junior staff.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication, caring and compassionate nature, and willingness to learn and develop in the Band 6 role.
  • Possess extensive endoscopy experience or experience in a similar unit; support colleagues in a flexible shift rota.
  • Operate within flexible working practices where possible.
  • Uphold Trust and professional values, contribute to clinical governance and quality initiatives.
