A public healthcare provider in Bury St Edmunds seeks a dedicated charge nurse to manage clinical shifts, support staff development, and ensure high standards of patient care. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of coronary care experience and display strong leadership and communication skills. Acting as a role model, demonstrating high levels of clinical expertise. Providing leadership on clinical shifts, managing the staff, coordinating the shift and ensuring patient safety at all times. Active involvement in quality data recording and audit collection in order to ensure the patients are receiving the best possible standards of care and monitor for areas of improvements. Staff development is a key element to the role of a charge nurse/sister, supporting the nursing team to develop and learn and ensuring the competency of colleagues. Alongside this the successful applicant will be required to complete appraisals for the team members, identifying learning opportunities and areas for development. Deputise in the absence of the Ward Manager. Assist in the investigation of complaints through the Trust's complaints procedure, using these as a learning opportunity and support the Ward Manager to change practice as a result, when appropriate. Manage sickness and ensuring the ward is rostered safely and efficiently.
