Friends of the Elderly (FotE) is a not-for-profit charity dedicated to providing excellent care with a family feel, we have been supporting older people for over 120 years. The charity provides care home and day care services for older people, as well as grants for older people in financial difficulty.

About The Lawn

The Lawn is a beautiful Georgian period home in the rural village of Holybourne, Alton. The building has been sympathetically modernised to meet the needs of all our residents and we have a dedicated, well-trained and compassionate team of staff that care for our residents.

Role: Shift Leader

You will be responsible for delivering person-centred care, unique to each individual, supporting and enabling our residents to maintain key skills, personal interests, independence, choice, and dignity, so that they can lead fulfilled lives.

  • Ensure residents are safe and comfortable.
  • Act as a champion for their safety and dignity.
  • Lead the team in providing quality, individualised care in line with procedures and policies.
  • Maintain clear, accurate records.
  • Follow procedures for ordering, administering and dispensing medication.
  • Conduct supervisions and appraisals with staff and promote their development.
  • Maintain a safe, clean workplace and follow infection control protocols.

Shift patterns include evenings, weekends, and some unsociable hours.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Experience in a similar role, having previously led a team and administered medication.
  • Level 2 diploma in Health and Social Care (essential). Level 3 diploma or higher is desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to build relationships with residents and effectively handover information to colleagues.
  • Proficiency in number and digital skills, problem solving, adapt to situations, and recognize and report safeguarding needs.
