Shift Engineer / Property Maintenance Officer Imperial London Hotels Group based at Bedford Hotel 40 hours a week (5/7 days a week Flexibility is required) 32,445.00 + Benefits

About the role

Are you a skilled Shift Engineer or Property Maintenance Officer? Are you passionate about prioritising health, safety, and efficiency in everything you do? Are you ready to challenge the traditional hospitality mentality and put people and quality at the heart of your work? We’re seeking a Shift Engineer based in our Bedford Hotel to join our dedicated property maintenance team. Working with the Maintenance Manager, you are responsible for ensuring our hotels and buildings are well presented and maintained at all times to deliver an exceptional experience for our guests. You will oversee various daily maintenance tasks, ensuring guest bedrooms are well maintained and consistently presented in immaculate condition.

No two days are ever the same in this role, but some key duties will include general building repairs, minor electrical work, painting, carpentry work, outdoor landscaping and grounds maintenance, testing and monitoring the BMS and supervising contractors where necessary. You'll coordinate your daily tasks and any other scheduled maintenance activity with your front of house team to ensure requests are managed promptly and in a timely manner whilst operating in a safe and efficient way according to all H&S legislation and company policy.

Essential Skills
  • 2 years of experience in Property Maintenance or a similar role.
  • Strong problem‑solving abilities.
  • Proactive approach to maintaining high standards of safety and functionality.
  • Team player who thrives in a busy environment.
  • Experience with maintenance management systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Desirable Skills
  • Certifications in Facilities Management, Health & Safety, or related fields.
  • Experience with energy management and sustainability initiatives.
  • Multi‑site management experience.
