Job summary

A welfare support organization is seeking a Sessional Welfare Officer to provide advice on accessing welfare benefits and support individuals facing welfare challenges. The ideal candidate will have completed the CAB's Advisor Training Programme and possess a good understanding of the Social Security Benefits system. This role offers flexible hours with a pay rate of £20 per hour, covering the South and West of Northern Ireland.

Qualifications

  • Must have completed CAB’s Advisor Training Programme or demonstrate comparable qualification.
  • Experience dealing with the Social Security Benefits system required.
  • Knowledge of Army War Pensions and Police Injury on Duty is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Offer advice on accessing welfare benefits and healthcare.
  • Meet and support individuals facing welfare challenges.
  • Advocate for clients to ensure entitlement to support.

Skills

Good knowledge of welfare benefits
Experience in crisis intervention
Strong communication skills

Education

Completion of CAB's Advisor Training Programme (ATP)
Minimum of 5 GCSEs (A-C or equivalent)
