Job summary

A dynamic service management company is seeking a Service and Maintenance Technician to join a friendly team in Hull. This role involves inspecting and maintaining lifting equipment, performing repairs, and conducting safety tests. Candidates should have strong mechanical knowledge and previous maintenance experience, along with excellent communication skills. Comprehensive training, including GWO Courses, will be offered. The position requires working 12-hour shifts on a 2 weeks on/2 weeks off schedule.

Qualifications

  • Proven track record in delivering inspection and maintenance in a service environment.
  • Experience with hydraulics, mechanical, and electrical systems.
  • Ability to read technical documents including specifications and diagrams.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and register new and existing lifting equipment.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Conduct electrical safety tests and ensure compliance with HSE best practices.

Overview

Role: Service and Maintenance Technician

Location: Alexandra Dock, Hull

Pay Rate: £18.64 P/hr basic + overtime

Hours: 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off; 12 hours shifts

Duration: 6 months initial

We are recruiting for a Service and Maintenance Technician which includes Lifting and Transport Equipment to join our clients Tools Equipment Management Warehouse. We have a fantastic opportunity for an individual to work in a friendly team environment responsible for inspecting, registering and maintaining lifting equipment while performing essential servicing, repairs and electrical safety tests to manufacturer's specification. This is a varied role where thorough training will be provided to the successful candidate. We are looking for candidates who has a proven track record of delivering inspection and maintenance in a service environment. This role will have full training provided with the relevant GWO Courses.

Responsibilities
  • Inspection and registration of existing/new lifting equipment.
  • Perform document maintenance, installation, fault diagnosis and repair of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and instrumentation systems.
  • Periodical service of lifting equipment
  • Ensure the safety of yourself and others within HSE best practice.
  • Electrical Safety Tests
  • Be a part of a 24/7 on call service from the department
  • Assemble & disassemble of transport equipment
  • Be apart of the one stop shop team supporting projects away from the hull base.
Qualifications
  • You must work well as part of a team and as an individual, as there will be an expectation to become self-sufficient and manage your daily activities.
  • Have excellent communication skills and the confidence to liaise with other colleagues, supervisors, managers and departments.
  • Sound knowledge of mechanics with experience of hydraulics, mechanical and electrical.
  • Can demonstrate the ability to read/understand procedures/specifications/ drawings/sketches/diagrams etc.
  • PC literate and able to use MS office applications.
  • Demonstrates a logical problem-solving approach to all breakdowns and issues.
  • Possess previous equipment maintenance experience including breakdown support, fault finding, repair and process improvement.
