Overview

Service Engineer — Teesside region, travel within the region required. Competitive Salary + Benefits (Dependent upon experience).

Our client is a well-established industrial services company seeking a skilled Service Engineer with an electrical engineering focus to join their team in the Teesside area. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on reactive maintenance and urgent callouts, providing rapid support to customers facing critical equipment challenges.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults on overhead cranes and lifting equipment.
• Perform breakdown repairs, preventative maintenance, fault diagnostics, and on-site electrical work to restore equipment quickly and safely.
• Interpret electrical schematics, maintain service records, and adhere to health and safety standards.
• Travel regularly within the Teesside region, including occasional out-of-hours callouts.

Requirements

• Time-served electro-mechanical engineer with a strong electrical bias and excellent fault-finding/troubleshooting skills.
• Thorough understanding of electrical safety regulations; experience working at height in industrial environments.
• Strong customer service and communication skills; professional, proactive, and able to work independently and manage priorities under pressure.
• Valid UK driving licence is essential due to regional travel requirements.
• Additional qualifications such as LEEA certification, IPAF or FLT training, and knowledge of PLC systems are advantageous but not essential as training will be provided.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and willingness to participate in emergency callouts.
